Spontaneous Walks (Copenhagen) is a series of 10 digital drawings generated through spontaneous walking with a gps application. An attempt is made to walk spontaneously within the urban context without any preplanned route or time schedule, however with the intention to end the walk at the same location as it began. The walk is also roughly performed within a defined district within the city limits as known from previous information. These drawings reveal and represent, in a subtle way, simultaneously subjective preferences of the walker as well as infrastructural tendencies of the given urban districts.
Notions of representation of time and space, measurement and movement, scale and distance, are adressed and problematized through this series of drawings. The scale of the drawings is 1:15000.
In this series there is one drawing for each of the 10 official districts of Copenhagen. The drawings are ideally to be installed in a line and exhibited as an entire series.
